  • Ibiza celebrates the Nit de Sant Joan (Saint John's Night)
On Monday, the island of Ibiza celebrated the 'Nit de Sant Joan' (Saint John's Night). Hundreds of people flocked to the various towns and villages to enjoy this magical night, during which tradition dictates that bonfires are jumped over. The night was also enlivened by music in various locations, making this evening even more enjoyable.
  • New call for help from Formentera: they have already received 65 unaccompanied migrant minors, more than twice as many as a year ago
Last weekend's latest wave of dinghy, in which 148 migrants were spotted aboard nine boats between Friday and Sunday in the vicinity of Formentera or already on land, has prompted a new cry for help from the president of the Consell de Formentera. Among these 148 migrants were two minors, who have been taken into the care of the island's authorities. These two minors bring to 65 the number of migrants who have reached Formentera's shores so far this year, more than double the number who arrived in the first six months of the year 2024, which were 30. «The data for the month of June confirm the forecasts we had for 2025. If 2024 was already a very hard and difficult year, with unaffordable figures, this year is even worse», points out Óscar Portas, president of Consell de Formentera, in relation to the arrival of unaccompanied immigrant minors. The Consell de Formentera explains that the institution currently has 132 minors under its guardianship, after a surge in arrivals since the middle of last year. If in
L’esdeveniment tendrà lloc a l’ajuntament d’Alacant, on PP i Vox estan disposats a perpetrar-lo.
  • The 39-year-old British woman who went missing in Formentera on board a rented boat is found drifting near Valencia
The 39-year-old British woman who went missing in Formentera while sailing on a rented boat has finally been found. According to sources close to the case, the woman was spotted by a boat operating the route from Ibiza to Valencia at around 17.00 hours this Saturday, sailing adrift, and rescued. The boat on which the woman was found was towed by Salvamento Marítimo to Ibiza. Meanwhile, the woman who had been missing for several days was finally taken to hospital in Valencia. According to the sources consulted, there is no indication that any crime has been committed. It should be remembered that the woman rented the boat with which she went sailing before she went missing on Tuesday morning. It was her friends who alerted of her disappearance once at 18.00 hours on Wednesday, as expected, she did not return the boat she had rented to go sailing. Members of the Special Underwater Activities Group (GEAS) and the Guardia Civil's Maritime Service have been trying to locate the woman ever since, with search eff
