  • Amnesia presents its musical proposal for summer 2025
With new residencies and a completely revamped immersive sound system, Amnesia is all about what really matters: the music and the atmosphere. This summer is not about the show. It's a return to the feeling. The essence of Ibiza nightlife is still on the dancefloor, not in the billboards, not in the followers on social media, and certainly not in the dominance of the VIP area. Nightclubs are spaces to escape, immerse yourself in sound and connect through shared moments. Amnesia remains that refuge for those who come not to be seen, but to disappear. This season's full programme clearly demonstrates this, featuring a powerful combination of new residencies and global brands. Ben Hemsley and KETTAMA bring a fresh perspective to Amnesia Presents, and East End Dubs, with their Eastenderz label, share the bill with Resistance, Boiler Room and Do Not Sleep — all of whom are presenting a substantial rather than extensive line-up. While much of the island leans towards spectacle and predictability this year, Amnesia
  • A man goes cycling in Ibiza and encounters a two-metre snake
Andoni Valencia, a member of the AD Ibiza Half Triathlon club, encountered a snake approximately two metres long this Wednesday while he was cycling along the road between Sant Rafel and Santa Agnès, near Bucastell. The reptile was lying on the asphalt, apparently after having been hit by a car that had just overtaken the cyclist. The population of these reptiles has increased significantly. While the snakes found are not venomous and do not pose a serious threat to humans, they do threaten other small species, such as the Podarcis pityusensis — an endemic species of lizard from the Pitiusas Islands. If you have encountered an invasive snake in your home or on the street and would like to share your experience, please email [email protected].
  • A resident of Ibiza finds a snake moult a metre and a half long in the field next to his house
Pep Ramis has become accustomed to encountering snakes in the countryside surrounding his house, which is located near the Can Frigoles industrial estate. His neighbour was surprised last week when he found a snake measuring approximately one-and-a-half metres in length. As Ramis explained to the Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera, this invasive species is very common in this area of the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. He says that local residents even have a «competition» to see who can find the most of these reptiles. The man, who recently went to Can Tomeu to collect more traps to hunt ophidians, frequently cleans his land and tries to pay special attention to this type of reptile, as he has even come across some of them in the rubbish bins. Ramis says that he has traps to catch any snakes that wander around his house and that he follows all the necessary protocols. He only kills a snake if it is absolutely necessary, delivering a «sharp blow». This resident of Can Frigoles regrets everything th
  • Another body found on a Formentera beach
According to the Guardia Civil, another body was found in Formentera on Monday at around 8.45pm in the Llevant area. Last Friday, another body was found on Migjorn beach, as confirmed by the island council. These are not the first bodies to wash up on Formentera's beaches this year, and it is thought that they may be migrants who died at sea during a crossing. Autopsies will determine the cause of death.
  • Two-year-old boy drowns in holiday home in Ibiza
On Thursday, a two-year-old boy was found dead in the swimming pool of the luxury villa that his parents had rented for their holiday in Sant Joan. Family members found the child without breath and pulse, and called the emergency services. The emergency services instructed the family to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but this was unsuccessful. Two ambulances were sent to the scene: a basic life support ambulance and an advanced life support ambulance. They tried to resuscitate the child for over an hour, but were unable to save him.
