  • An after-party in a villa in the Cas Mut neighbourhood of Ibiza is reported
Residents of the Cas Mut neighbourhood in Ibiza complained about an illegal ‘macro party’ held in one of the area’s villas throughout Sunday. According to residents who contacted Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera, the property belongs to journalist Pepe Navarro, although the newspaper has not confirmed this. Fed up with parties being held at this particular villa, the residents have repeatedly called both the Ibiza Local Police and the National Police. Both forces attended the scene, but the illegal party continued without any regard for the law once they left the area. The illegal party that started at 7 a.m. on Sunday was still going strong as night falls. It’s an illegal after-party. They start when the nightclubs close. «Cars are constantly arriving,» says one of the neighbours. The area was plagued by unlicensed private hire vehicles that continuously drive people to and from the house, and the car parks are full to capacity. According to neighbours, people visibly affected by alcohol or other subst
  • A drugged Italian man attempts to throw himself from a fourth-floor balcony in Ibiza
A major scare in a neighbourhood community in Platja d’en Bossa located between Pere Matutes Noguera Avenue and Platja d’en Bossa Promenade after a man attempted to jump from the balcony of a fourth-floor flat. The incident took place on Friday morning at around 9.30 a.m., when an Ibiza Local Police officer went to a residence on the aforementioned street to serve a court summons on an individual.According to details provided by the Vila Town Council, the person notified, an Italian citizen, was inside the home accompanied by several other individuals, all of whom showed signs of being under the influence of narcotic substances. • Ibiza, closer to normality after the devastating torrential rains of a week ago
This Tuesday marked one week since one of those days that will forever be etched in the memory of Ibizan society. In just a few hours, more than 250 litres of water per square metre fell — more than half of the usual annual rainfall. While the water was much needed on an island affected by drought, it came with too much intensity and force. The result was severe flooding, particularly affecting the neighbourhoods of Ibiza Town. When the alert sounded on mobile phones a few minutes after twelve o’clock in the morning, it was easy to fear the worst. With the consequences of the DANA in the Horta Sud region of Valencia still fresh in our minds, pessimism was rife. The vast majority of people went to work as normal first thing in the morning, as the rain only started at 10am. Fortunately, however, the situation was nowhere near as bad as in Valencia. In terms of human life, there were only two serious injuries due to falls, as well as a few minor injuries caused by a rockfall in the Puig des Molins area. Nevert
